Last night I experienced my first Alabama thunder and lightning storm! Storms like this were few and far between out in California, so it was quite exciting to me! I stood by the window for like and hour trying to capture a lightning bolt on film. I didn't quite get there, but did capture my neighborhood while lit up by lightning. The above picture was taken in complete nightime darkness, the light is all from a flash of lightning, it looks like daylight! By the way, I have now learned the best way to make lightning strike... just turn off your camera and walk away from the window, and no doubt a big bolt of lightning will hit. If it happened to me once, it happened to me ten times.
